Why Surface Outweighs Core Layout
Many bowlers spend hundreds on new bowling balls hoping for more hook, yet ignore the surface finish of the balls in their bag. Coverstock texture accounts for over 70% of ball motion, while core weight block and pin layout account for the remaining 30%.

Abralon & Siaair Grit Guide
- 500 Grit (Dull / Heavy Traction): Creates max traction in heavy oil. Reads the lane very early; smooth arc motion.
- 1000 to 2000 Grit (Medium Surface): Benchmark finish for standard house shots and medium sport patterns. Provides controllable midlane read.
- 3000 to 4000 Grit (Fine Surface): Extends length through the heads while retaining back-end continuation.
- Polished Surface: Maximizes skid through the front of the lane; sharp angle at the breakpoint on dry backends.
